Wire cages are cages with wire bars on the sides. These cages are good for travelers because they are light and easy to carry around. Also, some wire cages have multiple levels, which are fun for hamsters. Wire cages get a good amount of air but can be potentially drafty. Another con is that hamsters tend to kick the bedding out of the tray at the bottom of the cage and make a mess.
